Understanding buyer fees

Quibly charges a platform fee on every purchase, which helps run the marketplace safely and process payments securely. Prices on Quibly already include the platform fee and shipping, so there are no extra costs added at checkout.

Platform fee

4% of (item price + shipping) + £0.50 per transaction.

At checkout you’ll see a full breakdown confirming the item price, shipping (if applicable), and the platform fee that’s already included in the price shown. You can also see this breakdown on the product page before you reach checkout.

The buyer platform fee is the same on every plan.

Shipping fee

The shipping fee depends on who covers it and whether the order is for delivery or collection. By default, the buyer pays shipping, although sellers can choose to cover it.

  • Buyer pays shipping: the platform fee is calculated on the item price plus the shipping cost
  • Seller covers shipping: no shipping fee appears in your checkout, so the platform fee is calculated on the item price only
  • Local collection: no shipping fee, so the platform fee is calculated on the item price only

Are fees refunded if I return an item?

If your return is approved, what you get back depends on the reason for the return and the type of seller you bought from. See How returns and refunds work for a full breakdown of what is refunded in each case.

The bottom line

The platform fee is 4% of the item price plus any shipping, then £0.50. It’s already included in the price you see, with no extra charges added at checkout.
