How sellers get paid

When you make a sale on Quibly, your earnings go through a secure process before reaching your bank account. Here's everything you need to know about getting paid.

The payment process

  1. Buyer completes checkout. Money is held securely by Stripe while the item is on its way
  2. Item is delivered. Once the carrier confirms your item has been delivered, a holding period begins
  3. Holding period. Your earnings are held until the sale is complete. That is 48 hours from delivery for private sellers, and 14 days for business sellers, matching the buyer's return window. If a return is opened in that time, your payout stays on hold until it is resolved
  4. You get paid. After the holding period, your earnings are released to Stripe. Stripe pays out daily, and it can take up to 7 days after funds clear for the money to reach your bank

Fees and deductions

Quibly charges a seller platform fee to keep the platform running. The rate depends on your plan: Free and Enterprise sellers pay 4% of (item price + shipping) + £0.50 per transaction (or £1.20 on Free, whichever is higher). Pro and Power sellers pay 3% of (item price + shipping) + £0.50 per transaction. Charities pay no seller platform fee. If you offer to cover shipping, the shipping cost is deducted from your payout separately.

When fees are deducted

Your seller platform fee is already factored into your payout amount. You'll see your estimated payout (what you actually receive) before you publish your listing, and on the order itself when a sale completes. There's no surprise deduction later.

The one exception is return label fees. If you are required to cover the return shipping cost for an item, that cost is deducted from your upcoming transfers. You can see this in the Payouts screen in the app.

If a refund is issued

If a refund is issued to a buyer, the refunded amount is reversed from your Stripe account and deducted from your next payout.

If a chargeback is raised

If a buyer disputes a charge with their bank (a chargeback), payouts may be paused until the dispute is resolved. Payouts will resume once the dispute is settled.

Before your first payout

You'll need to set up your payout account through Stripe during your first listing. This only takes a few minutes. See Setting up your Stripe account for step-by-step instructions.

Tracking your payouts

You can follow all of this from Settings > Payouts.

In the app, you can see: what Quibly is still holding, what has been released to Stripe, when your next payout is due, the sales you have coming and the payouts you have already had.

In the app and on web, tap on ‘Manage payouts’ to open your Stripe dashboard for your full history, schedule and bank details.

See Your payout dashboard for more information.

The bottom line

Your payout is initiated after a sale is complete and any returns are resolved. Your seller platform fee depends on your plan: 4% + £0.50 on Free and Enterprise (or £1.20 on Free, whichever is higher), 3% + £0.50 on Pro and Power, and no fee at all for charities. This is deducted from your payout. If you cover shipping, that cost is deducted separately. Set up your Stripe account before your first listing, and track everything in Settings > Payouts.
