How to list an item

Listing an item on Quibly takes just a few minutes. Upload two photos and Quibly does most of the work for you: it generates a title, description and details, suggests a price and calculates shipping costs.

Before you list your first item, we ask you to choose a seller type, add your address and create your shop look if you want to.

Step 1: Take two photos

Tap 'Sell' from the main navigation and your camera opens automatically. If Quibly asks to access your camera, select 'Allow'.

Take two photos: the first should show the front of your item and the second should show the label, brand, or any other product identifier. Once you've taken both, tap 'Review' to continue.

If you'd rather use existing photos, you can upload images from your device instead.

Notes:

  • The first few times you open the camera, you'll see an on-screen overlay explaining all the buttons and controls that will guide you through everything.
  • Taking a third photo will start a new listing rather than adding to the current one. If you want to include more images, you can do that in the next step.
  • Quibly performs a security check on your photos to ensure they meet our guidelines. If an item is flagged as potentially violating our policies, you'll see a 'Potential issue detected' notification. You can tap 'List a different item' to remove it and continue, or restart the Sell process and re-photograph the item. See What can I sell on Quibly? for more information.

Step 2: Review and edit your listing details

Quibly automatically generates a title, description, suggested price, category, condition and other details. Review them, complete any mandatory fields and edit anything that needs adjusting. The more accurate your listing, the easier it is for buyers to find, and the fewer questions or returns you'll get.

For condition, select the option that best describes your item. Changing the condition will adjust the suggested price.

Photos: you can add more photos in this step. Free accounts can add up to 5 per listing, and Pro, Power and Enterprise up to 10.

Quantity: if you have more than one of the same item, set how many you have. Free accounts can list up to 2 per listing, and Pro, Power and Enterprise up to 99. Quantity is for identical items. If yours vary in condition, describe the differences or list them separately.

See How does Quibly create my listing details? for more information.

Step 3: Enable offers (optional)

Turn on the 'Accept offers' toggle if you'd like buyers to be able to negotiate the price. You'll need to set an auto-accept price (at or above which offers are accepted automatically) and a minimum offer (below which offers are declined automatically).

See Enabling offers on your listing for more detail.

Step 4: Set up delivery and collection

Choose how buyers can receive the item: delivery, local collection, or both. If you offer both, the buyer chooses which they want at checkout.

  • Delivery: select your carrier (Evri or DPD), confirm the parcel size and choose a service level if available. Quibly calculates the shipping cost automatically, which is covered by the buyer. You can optionally toggle on 'Offer free shipping' to cover the shipping cost yourself, which may help your item sell faster.
  • Collection: confirm your postcode. Your exact address is never shown to buyers, only the first part of your postcode.

If your item doesn't meet carrier size or weight requirements, you will only be able to offer collection.

See Setting up delivery and collection options for more information.

Step 5: Publish

Your estimated payout is shown at the bottom of your listing before you publish. Tap 'Fee breakdown' to see the item value, shipping and seller platform fee that make it up. When you are happy with everything, select 'List 1 item'.

When you publish your first listing, you'll be asked to set up your payouts account via Stripe. This is a one-time step before your first listing goes live. Stripe is Quibly's payment partner, which handles all financial processing and payouts securely. See Setting up your Stripe account for more details.

Once you complete the Stripe setup process, your item will be live within seconds and you'll see your estimated payout and fee breakdown again on the confirmation screen. You can edit your listing at any time before it sells.

Not ready to publish? You can save your listing as a draft. See Saving a listing as a draft.

Note: The price buyers see on your listing includes the shipping cost and buyer platform fee, so it will be higher than the price you set when listing.

Listing limits

How many items you can list per month depends on your plan:

  • Free: 10 listings per month
  • Pro: 100 listings per month
  • Power: 500 listings per month
  • Enterprise: unlimited listings

These limits are about how many listings you can create each month, not how many items you can put in one listing.

The bottom line

Upload your photos, review the auto-generated details, configure delivery and collection and publish. Most listings take just a few minutes to create. You can do all of this in the Quibly app, now live on the Apple App Store. Android is coming soon.
