Make the most of your Quibly account from the start. Here are some tips for setting up your profile and avoiding common issues.
Create a strong password
If you signed up with email and password:
- Use a unique password you don't use anywhere else
- Avoid easily guessable information (birthdays, names)
- Consider using a password manager to generate and store strong passwords
- Keep your login credentials secure and private
The password indicator shows you when your password meets our security criteria.
Prefer a password-free option? Signing up with Google, Apple or email link means there’s no password to be stolen, phished, or reused across sites. All are good choices if account security is a priority. See Sign-up methods explained for a full comparison.
Consider two-factor authentication
For extra security, set up two-factor authentication after creating your account. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a code from your phone when you sign in. See Setting up two-factor authentication to enable it.
Set your location
Your location helps with:
- Collection: find items near you for pickup
- Discovery: appear in searches for buyers nearby
- Delivery estimates: calculate accurate shipping times
Your exact address is not shown publicly, only your general area is visible.
Choose your shop name carefully
Your shop name appears on all your listings and interactions:
- Make it memorable and professional
- Avoid offensive language
- Keep it between 3-20 characters
Common questions
Can I create multiple accounts?
Each person is allowed only one Quibly account. Multiple accounts may result in suspension.
Can I change my email address later?
No. You will need to create a new account if you want to use a different email address.
Do I need different accounts for buying and selling?
No. One account lets you both buy and sell.
Troubleshooting setup issues
Password doesn't meet security requirements:
Keep trying stronger passwords until the indicator shows blue or green. The indicator guides you in real-time as you type.
Verification email not arriving:
- Wait 5-10 minutes (emails can be delayed)
- Check spam, junk, and promotions folders
- Click 'Resend verification email'
- Contact support if the issue persists
The bottom line
Set yourself up for success: choose a shop name you'll keep and add location details for better matching. If you’re using email and password, make it a strong one, and consider 2FA for extra security.
