Deleting your account

If you've decided to leave Quibly, you can permanently delete your account from Settings. Before you do, it's worth knowing what happens and whether there are alternatives that might work better for you.

What happens when you delete your account

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

  • All your active listings will be delisted
  • Your profile, shop, and personal data will be deleted
  • Your chats, offers, and notifications will be removed
  • Completed order records will be anonymised for tax compliance purposes

Once your account is deleted, you won't be able to access your order history, messages, or any other account information.

Before you delete

If you're taking a break from selling or buying, you don't need to delete your account. Consider these alternatives:

  • Delist your items: you can remove all listings without deleting your account. Your shop stays intact but nothing will be visible to buyers
  • Adjust notification settings: turn off emails or push notifications if you want a quieter experience
  • Just step away: your account can sit inactive for as long as you need. You can always come back

Requirements before deletion

You can't delete your account while you have active orders. This applies to both orders where you're the buyer and orders where you're the seller.

Active orders include:

  • Items awaiting shipment or collection
  • Items in transit
  • Items awaiting delivery confirmation
  • Any open disputes or returns

The Delete Account page will show you any active orders that need to be resolved first.

How to delete your account

Once all active orders are resolved:

  1. Go to Settings from the menu
  2. Select 'Delete Account' from the menu
  3. Review what will be deleted and any active orders
  4. If you have active orders, you'll need to wait until they are completed
  5. Once there are no active orders, confirm deletion by typing DELETE in the box

Your account will be deleted immediately and you'll be logged out.
