For each listing you can offer either delivery or local collection. Delivery lets you reach buyers across the UK with easy-to-ship items, while collection works well for large, heavy, or fragile items and initiates payment immediately after handover.
Delivery
Items are shipped via Evri or DPD. Quibly estimates the weight and calculates the shipping cost. You'll receive a QR code shipping label to show at your nearest parcel point when you drop off the parcel. No printer needed.
Delivery opens your listing to buyers across the UK. By default the buyer pays for delivery, but you can choose to cover the cost yourself during listing to increase your chances of selling. If you do, the shipping cost will be deducted from your payout.
Once a delivery item sells, you'll need to ship it within 72 hours. Your payment will be initiated within 48 hours of the buyer confirming delivery.
Local collection
Buyers collect the item in person, at a location you arrange. Your full address is never shown, buyers only see the first part of your postcode on your listing page and on the Collection map until it's time to arrange a time and place to meet.
Collection works well for large, heavy, or fragile items that are difficult to ship. Once a collection item sells, you'll have 5 days to arrange and confirm collection with the buyer. Returns are not available for collection orders. Your payment will be initiated once you scan the buyer’s QR code and confirm handover.
How to set up your options
You'll find the delivery and collection when listing an item, after the description and item details section. Choose one method.
If you want to offer delivery:
- Tap ‘Delivery’
- Select your carrier (Evri or DPD)
- Confirm the parcel size that matches your item
- Select a service level (standard or next day) if your selected carrier offers options
- Optionally toggle on ‘Offer free shipping’ to cover the shipping cost yourself, which may help your item sell faster
- Click ‘Save changes’
If an item doesn’t meet carrier requirements and limitations, you’ll get a message on-screen and you’ll only be able to select collection.
If you want to offer local collection:
- Tap ‘Collection’
- Click ‘Save changes’
You can update delivery and collection settings at any time before a sale by editing the listing.
The bottom line
You can offer either delivery or collection for each item you list. For delivery items, confirm your weight tier accurately so the right shipping cost is shown to buyers. Collection is especially useful for large or fragile items and releases payment to your Stripe balance as soon as you confirm handover.
